The Stone Crab Weekend phenomena was started by Frenchy’s in 1984 when owner, Michael “Frenchy” Preston, decided to offer his signature, fresh stone crab claws to the general public for just above cost. Today, visitors from around the world flock to Frenchy’s restaurants to enjoy the fresh claws and festive “beach party” atmosphere when season opens on October 15.
“Stone Crab Weekend is the biggest event we have all year,” said Preston. “It’s amazing how many people come here to enjoy our fresh stone crab claws with us year after year. Some actually plan their vacations around this event!”
In its 42nd year, the Stone Crab Weekend block party has more than just those tasty claws to offer. Fun activities and accommodation specials will be posted soon!

Season officially opens for crabbers to harvest the stone crab claws from the traps on Oct. 15th. Season is open through May 1st
From 12:00 pm – 10:00 pm both Friday and Saturday.
After opening Frenchy’s Stone Crab & Seafood Market across the street from Frenchy’s Outpost Bar & Grill, we wanted to expand the party to Dunedin! Checkout the live music line-up as we get closer.

Admission is FREE. Food, drinks and merchandise will be for sale.
Just a few feet away from the party is the North Beach Park Plaza which offers 600+ spaces! Also, public street parking and metered lots are available within several blocks.
We won’t know prices until October 24nd as our deep discounts are subtracted from the ever changing market price.
Yes, stone crabs will be served at Frenchy’s Outpost Bar & Grill during (and after) our 42nd Annual Frenchy’s Stone Crab Weekend! We rely on the goodness of Mother Nature to bring us a bountiful harvest for all but availability will vary.
