Whether it is grouper, shrimp, or sea bass, various types of seafood are delicious, but does one know what they’re always eating? Believe it or not, seafood fraud has been a problem in markets and restaurants for many years; however, a determined collection of organizations, along with an invention conceptualized by two scientists in Florida, may have the answer to finally end this epidemic.
While visiting Clearwater Beach in early April 2016, independent film director Tony Rammos produced & directed segments of his short documentary at Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill. Tony’s story focused on seafood fraud, a problem in markets and restaurants for many years in the U.S.; but a determined collection of organizations, including Frenchy’s restaurants, have been in the forefront of combating this ongoing issue and hope to one day end this epidemic.
Tony thanks everyone at Frenchy’s for participating in this short documentary in hopes of raising awareness to the public about seafood fraud. For more stories, please visit his website at www.cinematiccode.com.
